Francize and ACDC win GBFFL titles

July 6, 2009 - Francize defeated W.H. Greene & Associates by a score of 20-13 to win the 2009 GBFFL Competitive title on Sunday. Francize reached the finals by defeating Sherkston B's 34-6 and American Glass Block 33-19. W.H. Greene and Associates defeated Buffalo Soldiers 28-0 and Zoombang by a score of 19-6 to earn their way to the finals, for the second time in two years. The game featured last years recreational champions (Francize) and last years competitive champions (Greene). In the final, Francize took control of a back-and-fourth game late in the second half and went on to win their first GBFFL competitive title. Quarterback Dejuan Overton, led Francize and was named Competitive Playoff Offensive MVP. Terrance "T" Brown dominated on both sides of the ball for Francize and was named Competitive Playoff Defensive MVP.

ACDC defeated Team Beast Mode by a score of 13-12 to win the recreational title. ACDC defeated Clarence Red Devils by a score of 26-22 to reach the finals. Team Beast Mode beat the Raiders 15-14 in their semi-final game to earn the right to face ACDC in the finals. ACDC, being an experienced 4 on 4 team did just enough to win, and claimed their first GBFFL recreational title. Quarterback, Rich Lynch led ACDC with percision passing and was named Recreational Playoff MVP.
