Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Greater Buffalo Flag Football League Announces 2009 Schedule April 5, 2009- The Greater Buffalo Flag Football League announced its 2009 schedule, which includes opening day on May 24, 2009. The GBFFL, which enjoyed it’s inaugural season last summer, took the local recreational football scene by storm in the summer of 2008. The GBFFL boasts of being the only area league to play it’s entire schedule on synthetic grass turf along with having a website that rivals those of many professional sports leagues. The GBFFL plays it’s entire schedule at Kunz Field, located on the University at Buffalo North Campus. The GBFFL website features weekly highlight videos, pictures, stats, scores and game summaries. The GBFFL, sanctioned by the United States Flag and Touch Football League (USFTL.com), features quick paced, non-contact, mens 4 on 4 flag football played on a 46 yard field. The 4 on 4 style of play is most often associated with the former NFL air-it-out nation wide tour which sponsored tournaments around the country culminating with the national championships in Florida. As an affiliate of the USFTL, the GBFFL will provide full paid bids to the GBFFL competitive division champions and partial paid bids to the recreational division champions to the 2010 USFTL National Championships held in Kissimmee, FL on January 15, 16, & 17, 2010. Prospective teams may register at GBFFL.com through May 18, 2009. Teams can save $30 by taking advantage of a new “early registration” promotion, by registering by May 2, 2009. The 2009 season kicks off on May 24, 2009 and culminates with a one day playoff on July 5, 2009. Go to GBFFL.com to register.
