High Flying EA Heroes roll over their competition in week one

June 30, 2008 - The EA Heroes stormed out of the gates on opening day of the Greater Buffalo Flag Football League season and ended up in first place overall. They dominated Zoombang by a score of 38-7 in their opening game and followed up with a convincing 38-8 ambush of the Buffalo Soldiers. The Heroes consistently connected on long balls throughout the day delivered by their strong armed QB, Tim Bailey (East Aurora H.S., St. John Fisher). The Dynasty, Any Given Sunday and The Pussycats also finished the day with perfect 2-0 records. The EA Heroes claimed the top spot in the standings by virtue of their +59 point differential. We shall see if the Heroes can continue their winning ways as they will soon face experienced competition.

The GBFFL would like to thank all of the teams for exhibiting sportsmanship and being on time on Saturday. GBFFL officials would also like to thank the teams who played in the 2:00 P.M. games for helping out and picking up the cones, pylons and garbage at the end of the games. The GBFFL would also like to thank the four man crew from the Upstate Officials Association (UOA) as they did an outstanding job. Week #2 gets under way this Sunday July 6, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Kunz Field on the University at Buffalo North Campus.

The GBFFL would like to remind all captains to check their email throughout the week for correspondence from the league. Additionally, all rosters are frozen after July 6, 2008. Any captain wishing to add or delete a player from his roster must complete the roster add/delete form and turn it in prior to playing on Sunday July 6, 2008.
