Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Any Given Sunday, The Dynasty, Buffalo Braves and ACDC each win 2 games July 14, 2008 - Any Given Sunday, The Dynasty, Buffalo Braves and ACDC all won 2 games on Sunday in week #3 of the GBFFL season. Any Given Sunday opened its lead on the rest of the field by dominating Zoombang 31-0 and Buffalo Soldiers 30-0. Their +153 point differential is 38 points greater than any other teams differential and is a clear indication of their offensive and defensive dominance. Nick Pappas continued to lead the way for unbeaten Any Given Sunday (6-0) with his percision passing. The Dynasty defeated O.P. Shockers by a score of 27-8 and American Glass Block by 15-13. The Dynasty was Lead by Ronnie Anderson who accounted for 14 of his teams 15 points against American Glass Block, by scoring 2 touchdowns and sacking the American Glass Block quarterback in the end zone for a safety. The Dynasty remains unbeaten with a 6-0 record but remains in second place by virtue of their +94 point differential. The Buffalo Braves continued to impress as they beat the 3rd place Pussycats 25-13 and received a forfeit win from the Raiders. Their two wins improve their record to 5-1 and vault them from 7th place to 3rd in the standings. Chris Lonzi led the way for the Buffalo Braves with his ability to elude the pass rush and complete passes while scrambling. A big part of The Braves success comes from their strategy of snapping the ball to a running back, who then hands off to Lonzi, which gives him the run/pass option. Lonzi has picked up chunks of yardage and scored on runs many times out of this formation in the past few weeks. ACDC got their first and second wins of the season this past Sunday by winning two 1 point games. In their first game they defeated Buffalo Soldiers by a score of 13-12, in overtime. Their second win was a 13-12 win over the much improved Tigers. Their two wins moved them from 13th in the standings to 10th, just two places shy of the competitive playoffs and firmly into the recreational playoffs (the top 8 teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the competitive playoffs, while the 9th-12th teams qualify for the recreational playoffs). The GBFFL season continues this Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Kunz stadium on the University at Buffalo North campus. Games begin at 10:00 A.M. and conclude at 2:40 P.M., spectators are welcome and admission is free. Click on the "venue" tab for directions to Kunz Stadium.
